The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around Brexit, HFSS and gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital charter and our Industrial Strategy campaigns.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 50 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

Inclusion

During these unprecedented times, we believe it is important to keep diversity and inclusion firmly on our agenda. One of the best ways of injecting diversity into a business is through entry level talent pipelines, especially if you are an apprenticeship levy paying business.

The industry’s flagship apprenticeship programme, Creative Pioneers, is delighted to be joining forces with the Advertising Association to promote our apprenticeship portfolio to marketing departments, agencies and media owners in AA membership.

The Creative Pioneers Programme is an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rated apprenticeship, which is aimed at school leavers, graduates, and can also be utilised to upskill existing employees. This collaborative programme was created and developed by the IPA, with Metro as media partner, and is delivered by Arch Apprentices under the Creative Pioneers brand.

As of 2020, Creative Pioneers has placed over 700 apprenticeships across more than 250 advertising, creative and digital media agencies.

The scheme has attracted a diverse representation, including over 35% of apprentices from BAME backgrounds, and 49% females over the last year.

With IPA members we have developed the industry’s first bespoke Advertising and Media Executive Standard and a Junior Creative Advertising Apprentice Standard will be launched in September 2020. Both are useful additions to the portfolio which also includes Digital Marketer and Data Analyst, plus service roles in HR and Finance.

We are now accepting expressions of interest for our September intake. Find out more about how your business can benefit from Creative Pioneers apprenticeships by writing to Leila@ipa.co.uk or visit www.creativepioneers.co.uk
